The one-hour webinar will address the audit request list and the items that must be completed prior to an audit. Susan will also discuss internal controls, reconciliations and audit schedules. Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar.

Chamber Announces Building Strong Nonprofits Workshop Series

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce in accordance with The Innovative Nonprofit Solutions Group will be holding a series of workshops on how to build strong nonprofits. The series will feature Ruth Peebles, founder of the INS group, and Susan Martin, CPA, founder of Susan C. Martin, CPA, PC. Together, these two women have over 36 years of experience in their respective fields of both nonprofit and public accounting sectors.

The series will begin September 13, 2010 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. focusing on specific aspects of serving and volunteering for nonprofits. Over a span of four workshops, attendees will learn the basics of establishing a nonprofit from grant writing and proper fundraising to creating an effective nonprofit board. The workshops will also cover the importance of being a fiscally responsible institution. Each class is $20 per person or $70 for all four sessions and from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
